Day 13 – Oh Solitude!!!

Day 13 – Mon 30/1/2012

I don’t know what do I miss the most, my home, my cell phone, my laptop, my parents, my friends, people I love and care about, suddenly I had this urgent feeling of crying over me dead beloved people and for the living ones that I miss so much.

Today we went for some sports and exercises in the central yard, like I said before it’d make no sense to skip a part and then go back to it again, so there you have it.

After we finished fitness we went back to the hangers to change our clothes and back to the yard for some theoretical lecture about the anatomy of the AK-47 automatic rifle, then we went to the mess hall for a mandatory lunch, I don’t know what happened but it was strange!!! Today was the third consecutive day we had an inspecting committee along with head of the eastern aviation region along with some MPs it was hysterical and the place was upside down.

I think we were threatened to be punished but thank god after 2 consecutive queues nothing happened and we’re set to assemble at 20:00 at the battalion yard for further instructions, so far further instruction were that we stood in attention mode and with backs to the speaker

“a kind of punishment although it seem a little disrespectful to give your back to someone who’s talking to you, but military rules seem different than civilian ones”.

After numerous threats of punishment and ruthless treat from now one, as a lot of complaints were filed against our company and if we didn’t behave we might get denied the right in probie’s vacation plus other penalties.

Day 8 – Happy Revolution Day

Day 8 – Wed 25/1/2012

Today the celebrations of the first annual memory of our glorious revolution started all over the country, so what did we do in camp?

We were gathered a lot to do some chores and I smelled a scheme to keep us as busy as possible so they could concentrate on what might that day bring, or what if situation went south!!!

So we cleaned the yard, around our hangers, burnt some trash, moved a lot of rocks and bricks, we became dead tired, some people managed to escape this chore and all the work became on our shoulders. So basically the whole day was queues and chores and at the end of the day the battalion leader came to thank us personally, but the people who managed to escape didn’t get punished, and why?!! Because they work by the principle

“good deeds belong, bad deeds prevails” so unfair I guess.

Day 5 – SandStorm

Day 5 sun 22/1/2012

Another day and another training routine, we spent some time in queues and organizing, the day was going fine but the weather had a different opinion in that matter, it seemed we’re heading to a nice sandy storm, lucky us, we spent the whole day in our dorms, or in military terms “barracks” so we can also recover from the strange side effects of the bloody shots we toke last night.

We were also granted a recognition certificate from another company’s* first assistant** that we are some good men and we are respectable and all, so after that testimony our first assistant decided to grant us the whole day at rest in our dorms without exerting any mentionable effort or any important detail to be mentioned, or that’s what I remember
